Choosing a wedding photographer

| |
I keep getting asked what should people look for when booking a wedding photographer, so I've put together this blog in the hope it helps.
Choosing a photographer that can deliver the images you want, fit into your day and make everyone feel comfortable can be a daunting task.  Here are a few things to consider and ask before making your choice.

·  Will the person(s) you meet actually photograph the wedding?
If not you should arrange to meet your photographer and see samples of their work.

     · Do you get on and feel comfortable with the photographer?
This is probably the most important decision as a good connection between both parties is essential to create relaxed, happy and natural photographs.

· Ask to see at least one complete wedding in order to assess their work.

· Is your photographer a full time professional photographer?
·  Are you happy with the style of photography they offer?

· Do the people in their sample photographs look happy and  relaxed?
·  Is the photographer a member of a professional body?

· Does the photographer have professional indemnity/liability cover?

Once you have chosen someone who satisfies your needs and with whom you feel comfortable, the rapport between you will, with the photographer’s previous experience, lead to many photographic memories that will last a lifetime.

Of course you could just book us....

John Margaret & Family

We were very pleased when a family friend asked us to photograph their family.  This was to celebrate both their golden wedding anniversary and a chance to capture a four generation family shot with their grandaughter and great grandson who live in Italy.

It turned out the adults where harder to control than the baby as they spent more time looking at him than the camera!

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary to Glenn & Sue 5th June

| |
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Glenn & Sue a very happy 1st wedding anniversary and hope this is the first of many.
Glenn and Sue had a bikers wedding with over 50 motor bikes most of which were Harley Davidson's.

They were a great couple. It was a pleasure getting to know them whilst photographing their wedding, at the Church of the Latter Day Saints and then at St James working men's club .

It was a fun wedding to photograph.

Part of our work is restoring old photographs. I have just finished another batch for a regular client.  As he researches his family tree, he gets more old photos from various family members in all sorts of conditions.  It's a privilege to work on these precious images; some going back to the early 1800's.

Below is a small selection

Stuart & Liah

Saturday 28th May 2011. The proofs of Stuart & Liah's wedding pictures are now available for friends and family to view in our client area, but first you'll need the username and password from the happy couple.

The weather was a mixed bag of sun, drizzle and wind (almost gale force at times).
Stuart and Liah chose a couple of great venues for their celebrations. They took their vows at Castle Hill United Reformed Church, this was a lovely light airy venue that we hadn't worked before.  It was then on to the Falcon Inn at Castle Ashby for the reception. It was a pleasure getting to know and work with a great couple and their guests.

Below is a small selection of images from their big day.
