Red Squirrel at the British Wildlife Centre

My wife bought me a photographic day out at a conservation centre in Surrey, called the British Wildlife Centre.  I wasn’t sure what to expect as I hate to see animals in cages.  However I had a great day out with the opportunity to photograph a variety of different British animals up close and personal.  The centre has its own breeding program and releases many animals back into the wild.
I’ve only ever seen red squirrels in documentaries and photographs before, so was excited to get started and visit them in their pen.  The enclosure is shared with some Muntjac deer so it’s quite a large area; they live in the canopy of the trees whilst the deer are obviously down below.

Below is a small collection of images from the shoot.

Coton Manor

Around April time my wife wanted me to take her to see the bluebells.  She goes most years but it was my first time, I didn’t quite know what to expect as I'm not really into flowers.  It was more impressive than I thought it would be, definitely not a bad way to kill a few hours on a rare weekend off.

Luke & Amy’s Pre Wedding Shoot

I was delighted to be asked to photograph Luke and Amy’s up and coming wedding.  Although I’ve photographed Amy a number of times before, I’ve never had the opportunity to photograph Luke.  I offered to do a pre wedding shoot, which they were delighted with.  The day arrived and it was one of the hottest and brightest this year, so I used as much shade as possible and a lot of fill in flash.  However I think we got some nice results.

I’d like to know what you think.

Ray still bowling at 90

I was asked to photograph Ray at Harpole Bowls Club as it was his 90th  birthday and he’s still bowling for the club he helped start up in 1986.
The weather couldn’t make up its mind, one minute hot sunshine the next a heavy rain shower. Although he may not be as agile as he was in 1986, his mind however is still sharp enough and his sense of humour and spirit are great.

Happy 90th Birthday Ray.
