Do's & Don'ts to help you through your wedding Day (Part 1)

| |

You already have the perfect fiancé and the perfect wedding dress. Now you just need to enjoy your wedding day without turning into bridezilla.

Over the years experience has taught us

Everything doesn’t always go to plan.

In most weddings not everything will go exactly as planned.  If you accept this, take it in your stride and go with the flow on the day, it will help you relax and enjoy your day a lot more.

One of our brides wouldn't change a thing about her wedding day, despite a few blunders; the organist played the wrong song for her entrance, and the vicar messed up the vows. But none of that mattered, because she was happy to be marrying the love of her life.  In fact the vicar’s mistake made everyone laugh and helped her relax a little.

Enjoy it.

Most brides agree that their wedding day was a blur. That's why we suggest from time to time throughout the day you stop what you’re doing and just look around the room, see what’s going on.  Everyone is there to share and celebrate your special day it would be a shame not to remember it.

We usually recommend during the reception taking the bride and groom off for 15 minutes to get some romantic intimate images and a little time alone, away from everyone so you can collect your thoughts. It's easy to lose track of the real meaning of the day, I’ve heard it said many times that this 15 minutes were the most memorable of the day and really needed.

Hire professionals.

Obviously do your research before signing anything.  When it comes to your wedding photography, meet your photographer beforehand, make sure you get along.  After all they will be with you for most of the day.  Check to make sure your photographer has insurance, backup equipment, a proven track record and knows what they are doing. At the end of the day, your photographs are all you’ll have to remember your special day so choosing the right photographer is a big decision.

Whilst the old saying “you only get what you pay for” is true, it’s also true that the most expensive is not necessarily always the best, so choose well.

Don't stress out.

I know it’s easier said than done but don't let the stress of the day keep you from enjoying what should be one of the best days of your life. I think the main ingredients to the success of a wedding is letting go and trusting the team of professionals you have hired.  So have fun.

We’re not sure how true it is but we've seen a statistic that says. “When asked what a brides biggest wedding day regret is 44% say stressing too much”.
